When you get this right, you’re dealing with the people who not only want your service or product but who are willing to pay you for the value you provide.

This week, we’re going to look at the fourth Irrefutable Law.
Machine – The Business Automation System
The next part of the system –
Without this you are destined to work in business forever, unable to extract yourself from the daily grind.
Life is not fun.
Potentially you have limited freedom, and limited time for yourself, family and friends.
Have you ever run a race and felt so tired at the end that you can’t take another step? Have you felt like this in your business as well? It’s not fun is it?
When you do get this right though you open up a business that you run, not the other way round.
With this you are going to have the freedom to be in your business as much or as little as you want to. You have choices.
Would that be a good thing?
Who has seen a conveyor belt, with 1 person running it and all the goods tracking along, consistently and constantly. It works with just one person overseeing it, and they can take a break if they need to, knowing the conveyor belt will keep running, without them being there. Just like your business could do if you set it up properly.
What am I talking about here. I mean you have a Machine.
What is a Machine. A Machine is something that runs consistently,
can give you more output than if you tried doing it yourself.
What this could mean for you, is that you can make more money by doing less, or sell it for more.
The Business Automation System – so the Business runs – not you!!!
Get out of head & onto paper – ordering stationary
You must systemise the business, so it’s doing all the work for you, while you just watch the process repeating itself.
This one strategy, if you implement it, will dramatically change your business from where you are now, to potentially where you want it to be.
Any system must be easy to use. Pictures and videos are great. If it is a document, ensure it is no more than 1 page, like this, but have hyper-links to it, so people can go off and get that particular piece of info they need.
No-one wants to read a 100 page document, – but they will read 1 page and go to a hyper-link to the info they need and require.
Let me give you an example.
McDonalds has made more millionaires that any other business. How have they done this? McDonalds isn’t about burgers. It’s about the system and replicating the same process every time, regardless of what country you are in.
Would you agree that McDonalds don’t make the best burger?
But would you agree that they are consistent in their delivery of their burgers.
And what does System stand for…
If you’re Running a business right now and you don’t have any systems in your business, then you don’t really have a business. You just have a JOB. Sorry if this sounds harsh, but it is just the reality. Remember J.O.B. stands for “Just over Broke.”
Let me give you an example. I want to take you to NZ with me for a 5-month holiday. Can you ring someone up at your office and say I’m going on holiday for 5 months, look after the place in my absence. Or could you just close the office and walk away, knowing that it will continue to generate recurring income for you and pay for your holiday while you’re in NZ with me?
If you can’t, and be honest with yourself – because if you can’t then you have just a job. That needs to change.
Here’s the thing, if all of the operational things about running your business are stuck in your head, then it’s no good to anybody.
If you become sick and it’s in your head, how can somebody else come in and run your business.
I will teach you though how to systemise your business, and WHAT to do to get it out of your head.
What this means for you is that you’ll have a business that can operate with minimal input from you.
Many Business owners say, “Ooooh I don’t want my business to grow any bigger. I love working in it, and having it just the way it is. It would be greedy to make more money.” These business owners are possibly making less money than their employees and a slave to their JOB.
Normally it’s a Tradie- who loves being on tools. At 40 – 50 yrs old though, his back is giving out, and his knees are pretty knackered.
Business Owner’s often say, “No-one can do it as well as me! I couldn’t possibly hand it over.” Any B/O who says this is destined to work in his or her business for ever.
Let me ask you, if an employee could do it 95% of the time, correctly, would it be OK. Yes or No.
What about 90% of the time. Yes or No.
In reality if your employee does it 90% as well as you, by following the system and the business still runs effectively, then there is no issue.
Let me share with you how a system works.
Dave a client of ours was a chef and didn’t believe a system could be introduced into his restaurant. I asked Dave if he would take all his dishes out of his head and write them down. He refused. Dave is a headstrong Irishman!!!
No-one could cook them as well as he could. “Shall we test that?” I asked him.
I asked him to take 1 of his favourite dishes and write it down with pictures as to what it should look like.
Dave, very reluctantly did. I then asked one of his sous chefs to make this signature dish following this written process with pictures. Dave made the same dish. At a blind tasting, none of the diners could tell the difference between the 2 chefs, proving that a systemised operation works.
Dave was absolutely dumbfounded.
He then realised that if he took all the dishes out of his head, someone else could cook and he could have more spare time.
You should have seen the look on his face.
Do you remember when I first started the story, I said Dave WAS a chef.
11 months later Dave sold his restaurant for 9x multiples of his profit – because it was systemised. His accountant too, was amazed, because he had said to Dave, restaurants normally sell for 3.5 – 4 x multiples.
